Helen Williams Johnston Mullane

Helen Williams Johnston Mullane, born on September 25, 1913, passed away July 27, 2011 in Dallas, Texas at the age of 97. She was the daughter of James Lamb Johnston, Jr. and Elisabeth Deal Johnston of Gainesville, GA, where Helen grew up.

After her marriage to Eugene James Mullane she and her family settled in Texas. With her love of children, she kept children in her home during her later years. She was always joyful, quick witted and spiritual, which was reflected in her compilation of poetry; she loved life and was a friend to all. She was a member of Holy Trinity on the Lake Episcopal Church in Heath, TX. Her great grandfather, John Archibald Deal, was founder of the St. Cyprian Episcopal Church in Franklin, North Carolina in 1877.

Helen loved and treasured her family and is survived by her children, Eugene James Mullane, Jr. and wife Patti, Katherine Mullane Stephens and Michael Johnston Mullane and wife Debbie; 6 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren; her sister Jessica Johnston Cone from Smyrna; and numerous nieces and nephews who some were able to share in her surprise 92nd birthday celebration.

She was preceded in death were her parents, James Lamb Johnson, Jr. and Elisabeth Deal Johnson; her husband, Eugene James Mullane, Sr.; sisters
