Mary Ella Madden Groenveld

Mary Ella Madden Groenveld, age 90, of Cornelia, Georgia passed into eternal life on July 23, 2011.

Mrs. Groenveld was born on January 3, 1921, in Stratford, Connecticut. She was the daughter of the late Leroy and Christen Madden. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Charles L. Groenveld, Sr. and her son, Charles L. Groenveld, Jr. Mrs. Groenveld resided in New Jersey until moving to Georgia in 1995. She retired from ITT Industries and began a new career by opening her own food establishment until permanently retiring in 1975. Mr. Groenveld was a life member of Fraternity Chapter OES in Lyndhurst, New Jersey. After moving to Georgia, she was a volunteer at Habersham County Medical Center until her mid 80's. Mrs. Groenveld proudly enjoyed being an active member of the Red Hat Society Chapter 80577 until her death. She will be missed by all and remembered forever.

Survivors include her daughter, Judyann Campbell, Cleveland, GA; daughter-in-law, Janet Groenveld, Hackettstown, NJ; four grandchildren, Jancy Campbell Biggar, Flowery Branch, GA, Kristine and Joseph Suosso, Hamilton, NJ, Cheryl and Douglas Watson, Morristown, NJ and Christian and Kristine Groenveld, Morristown, NJ; 6 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Mrs. Groenveld will be laid to rest beside her husband at Brigadier General William C. Doyle Veterans Cemetery, Wrightstown, NJ at a later date.
