Jerry Burruss

Jerry Burruss of Cumming passed away July 17, 2011, after a brief battle with lung cancer. Jerry was a proud member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church. He loved his church and church family. He was preceded in death by his parents, Hoyt and Pawline Burruss.

He will always be remembered as a loving husband, father, father-in-law, grandfather (Pop) and a great friend to all who knew him.

He is survived by his loving wife of 43 years, Debbie Mathis Burruss; son and daughter-in-law, Jeff and Sonji Burruss; grandson, Preston Burruss; aunts, Bonnie McClure, Emily McClure and Mary Helen Lock; sisters and brother-in-laws, Brenda and David Waldrip, Joan Puls and Paula and Don Roberson; niece and nephews, Susie and Paul Shadburn, Tyler and Trent Sexton and Michael and Jennifer Waldrip; special and dear friends, Harley and Jean Bennett; several other relatives.

Jerry was proud to say that he had lived in Silver City all his life. Jerry and Debbie enjoyed their worldwide traveling, gardening and spending time with family and friends.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, July 20th at 1:00 pm at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church with Rev. Scott Sorrells, Rev. Paul Shadburn and Rev. Ruel Martin officiating. Interment will follow in Sawnee View Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at Ingram Funeral Home on Monday from 3:00 pm until 9:00 pm, Tuesday from 9:00 am until 9:00 pm and Wednesday from 9:00 am until hour of service.
