Betty Sue Gillespie Benson

Betty Sue Gillespie Benson, age 83 of Commerce, GA and formerly of Buford, GA died Saturday, July 16, 2011.

Funeral service will be held Tuesday, July 19, 2011 at 3:00 PM at Hamilton Mill Memorial Chapel. Rev. Randy Strickland and Rev. Pat Duran will officiate. The family will receive friends Monday, July 18, 2011 from 7-9-Pm at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Broadlawn Memorial Gardens.

In lieu of flowers the family request contributions be made to the family memorial fund C/O Hamilton Mill Memorial Chapel.

Mrs. Benson was preceded in death by her Husband, Byron James Benson. Daughter, Margaret Ann Tingle. Brother, Hoyt Gillespie and Sister, Mildred Buice Lee. Surviving are; Daughter, Mary Davenport, Fayetteville, GA. Daughter and Son In-law, Sarah and Pat Duran, Commerce. Son and Daughter In-law, Daniel and Ann Benson, Hoschton, GA. Grandchildren, David Mengel, Jimmy Mengel, Susan Cannoban, Deborah Carthern, Troy Duran, Roy Duran, Chris Duran, Ashley Duran, James Benson, Bobby Benson, Randy Benson and Scott Benson. 13 Great Grandchildren. Brother and Sister In-law, James and Cenie Gillespie, Stockbridge, GA. Sister and Brother In-law, Wannafaye and Lawton Cain, Tampa, FL. Betty was a native of Gainesville, GA and a lifelong resident of metro Atlanta. She was a homemaker and a member of Friendship Baptist Church, in Buford.
