Gideon Massey Burt

Gideon Massey Burt, age 49, of Lawrenceville died on Tuesday, July 12, 2011 as a result of a swimming accident. Gideon's body has been cremated. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, July 16, 2011 at 11AM at Hamilton Mill Memorial Chapel. The family will receive friends, at the funeral home, following the service. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Pre-School Ministry Department, c/o Hebron Baptist Church, P.O. Box 279, Dacula, GA 30019.

Gideon is survived by his daughters, Mikaela Erin Burt and Hannah Abigail Burt, Dacula; former wife, Kristin Tara Burt, Dacula; mother and father, Dorothy D. & George D. Burt, Greensboro, GA; sister, Deborah E. Watkins, Cartersville; nieces, Emily Portwood, Smyrna, Nicole Farren, Arianna Petersen and Miranda Petersen, Dacula; nephews, George Fonda, Dallas, GA, and Kyle Farren, Dacula.

Gideon was a lifelong resident of the Metro Atlanta area. He was employed with the Gwinnett County Public School System in the Maintenance Division. Gideon was also a member of Hebron Baptist Church where he enjoyed working with the Pre-School Sunday School classes.
