Lloyd Edward Stone

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, June 29, 2011 in the chapel of Mason and Ward Funeral Home for Lloyd Edward Stone, 89, of Gainesville, who passed away Sunday, June 26, 2011 following a brief illness. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday, from 11:00 a.m. until the service hour. The Rev. David H. Matthews will officiate. Interment will be in Poplar Springs Baptist Church Cemetery.

A lifetime resident of Hall County, he was the son of the late H.M. and Cora Saxon Stone. Mr. Stone was an Army Veteran having served in WWII where he served in the European Theatre. He was retired from Chicopee Manufacturing Company as a supervisor.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Blondine Turk Stone and grandson, Brandon Stone.

Survivors include his son and daughter-in-law, Lloyd Anthony "Tony" and Jo Stone; grandson and wife, Bryan and Grace Stone; great grandson, Drew Anthony Stone; great granddaughter, Malyn Grace Stone all of Gainesville, sisters, Christine Jones of Norcross and Emily McCormick of Dawsonville.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Poplar Springs Baptist Church 3101 Poplar Springs Church Road, Gainesville, GA 30507 in his memory.
