Gerald Harris Colbert

Gerald Harris Colbert, 80, of Gainesville passed away Sunday June 26, 2011 at Northeast Georgia Medical Center following an extended illness.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday June 29, 2011 at 11:00am from the chapel of Memorial Park Funeral Home with the Rev. Darryl Womack, and Rev. Robert Kersh officiating. Interment will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends Tuesday June 28, 2011 from 7pm-9pm at the funeral home.

Mr. Colbert was born February 13, 1931 in New Holland to the late Henry and Sudie Thurmond Colbert. He served in the United States Air Force and was a retired welder with the Department of Transportation. Mr. Colbert was a member of Montgomery Memorial Baptist Church.

Mr. Colbert is survived by his daughter Susan Wheeler of Gainesville, daughter Bonnie Jones of Chestnut Mountain, daughter Sarah Nell Miller of Gainesville, son Danny Colbert of Gainesville, son William J. Colbert of Gainesville, grandchildren Crystal Smith, Faye Colbert, Amanda Colbert, Dylan Jones, Duran Jones, Benjamin Colbert, James "Jimbo" Wheeler, Mary Beth Wheeler, 9 great grandchildren.
