John Willie "Johnny" Murphy

Evans Funeral Home announces the death of Mr. John Willie "Johnny" Murphy, age 66, of Pendergrass, who passed away on June 23, 2011. Mr. Murphy was born in Jackson County, a son to the late Oscar and Lela Ethel Morris Murphy. Mr. Murphy was a veteran of the US Army, serving in Vietnam. His wife, Margaret Hicks Murphy, preceded him in death.

Survivors include daughters, Angela Lee Rige, Dahlonega, Pamela Sue Loggins, Oakwood, Ellie Murphy, Pendergrass, son, Clark Daniel Murphy, Dawsonville, sisters, Emma Reed, Maysville, Betty Adams, Pendergrass, brothers, Gene Murphy, Pendergrass, Ike Murphy, Pendergrass, Paul Murphy, Homer, 8 grandchildren.

Funeral Services will be held Saturday, June 25, 2011 at 2pm in the Chapel of Evans Funeral Home with Rev. Johnny Knight and Rev. Jeff Graham officiating. The burial will follow in the Mt. Creek Baptist Church Cemetery. The visitation will be held on Saturday from 12noon-2pm at the funeral home, prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, please make memorials to the Ellie Murphy Trust fund, c/o Community Bank and Trust, 71 Memorial Drive, Jefferson, GA 30549.
