Mary Lucille Dorsey

Mrs. Mary Lucille Dorsey, age 92, of Sautee, passed away Wednesday, June 15, 2011 at her residence following an extended illness.

Mrs. Dorsey was a native and lifetime resident of Sautee. She was born on April 1, 1919 to the late Joe and Estella Green Trammell. Mrs. Dorsey was also preceded in death her husband, James Dorsey; brothers, Jesse Trammell, Jahue Trammell, Frank Trammell, ed Trammell; sisters, Maggie Ivory and Clayton White. Mrs. Dorsey was a member of Bean Creek Baptist Church where she served as secretary for 40 years. She was a member of the order of Eastern Star.

Survivors include her daughter and son in law, Betty Lou and The Rev. Billy Joe Jenkins, Sautee; son and daughter in law, Carl Lee and Betty Dorsey, Hayesville, NC; daughters, Joyce Dorsey, Toccoa; Charlotte Dorsey, Sautee; son, Jimmy Dorsey, Toccoa; brother, Mathew Trammell, Elizabethton, TN; 18 grandchildren; 41 great grandchildren; 12 great great grandchildren; and a special great niece who has been there for the family, Carolyn Dorsey.

Funeral services are scheduled for 2 P.M. Sunday, June 19, 2011 in Bean Creek Baptist Church. The Rev. Billy Joe Jenkins Jr. and The Rev. Eugene Harbin will officiate. Mrs. Dorsey's body will lie in state at the church from 1:30 until 2:00 prior to the service. Interment will follow at White Plains Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 PM Saturday at the funeral home.
