Emelyn Louise (Gailey) Glover

Emelyn Louise (Gailey) Glover age 86, of Clermont,went to be with the Lord on Friday, June 4, 2011 at Northeast Georgia Medical Center following a brief illness. Emelyn was preceded in death by her husband, Reece Glover and special needs, son Jerry Glover. Emelyn was a charter member of the Macon Association for Retarded Citizens in Macon, Georgia. She was an advocate for special needs children and desired that all children should have the opportunity of receiving an education. She didn't see limitations in special needs children but only saw capabilities and possibilities and rejoiced at all accomplishments. Emelyn was a precious and godly lady who loved her family and friends and was an inspiration and blessing to all. She exemplified this not only in the way she lived her life but also in the way she met the news of her impending death. With loved ones by her bedside in her last hours on earth, she shared funny stories and inspirational messages with each one individually making each person feel special. The testimony of her actions and faith were evident not only to her loved ones but also to the hospital staff. Her final message was to make sure you have a close relationship with the lord and to give love freely, forgive one another quickly and to stay close as a family. Emelyn has left a huge legacy for us all to live by. We are all certainly richer and blessed by having known her. Emelyn is survived by her daughter, Pat long, son-in-love, Mike Long, granddaughter,Michelle Edwards, grand-son-in love, Nathan Edwards and great-grandson, Bryson Edwards, sister, Frances Hurley, brother, Leon Gailey,and wife, Roberta Gailey, sister-in-law, Barbara Glover and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, June 7th from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Strickland Funeral Home in Clermont, Georgia. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, June 8th at 11:00 a.m. at Strickland Funeral Home Chapel in Clermont. Interment will follow in the Trinity United Methodist Church Cemetery.The Rev. Don Underwood will officiate.
