Obituary Date: Friday, June 3, 2011
Norma Jean Barden, beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother, wife and sister passed away Friday, June 3, 2011 at St. Joseph's Hospital. Norma Jean was born January 7, 1931 in Atlanta, Georgia. She was the second child and the first daughter of Samuel and Lessie B (Yelverton) Dunn. She found the utmost joy in spending time with her nine children, thirty-one grandchildren and forty-two great grandchildren. Her greatest gift was the love she poured out to her family, making them her focus and delight in every way. Norma was a charter member of Southwest Christian Church and later attended Antioch Christian Church.
Norma is survived by her brother Barry Dunn of Covington, GA and her sister Judy McConoughey of Pantego, TX. She is also survived by her nine children and their spouses, Howell and Lane Barden, of Cumming, Cheryl and Gary Wigley of Gainesville, Steve and Nancy Barden of Hoschton, Alan and Caroline Barden of Max, ND, Doug and Jill Barden of Ponte Vedra, FL, Terrell and Nancy Barden of Canton, Eddie and Lisa Barden of Canton, Tim and Angela Barden of Canton, Trellise and Randy Faile of Irmo, SC; thirty-one grandchildren and forty-two great grandchildren.
The family sincerely appreciates the tender care provided by the staff of the Oaks Senior Living Center in Cumming, GA.
A viewing will be held at Ingram funeral Home in Cumming, Sunday, June 5, from 5 - 7 p.m.
Funeral services will be held Monday, June 6, 10:00 a.m. at Antioch Christian Church, Canton, GA. Family and friends will gather at Westview Cemetery, Atlanta, GA, 12:30 p.m. for graveside services.
