Josephine Taylor, age 78, of Baldwin, Georgia, formerly of Fayetteville, North Carolina, passed away on Thursday, June 2, 2011, at Habersham County Medical Center, following a brief illness.
Mrs. Taylor was born on March 19, 1933, in Durham, North Carolina. She was the daughter of the late Albert and Ruth Street Long. Josephine enjoyed making latch hook rugs, doing word search puzzles, and watching her favorite game show, "Wheel of Fortune". She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother and was better known as "Grandma" to her family. Mrs. Taylor was of the Church of God faith.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Jack R. Miller; second husband, Eddie Taylor; sister, Edith Roberts; brothers, Wilford Long, Ben Long, William Long, Nick Long, and Earl Long; and infant daughter, Jackie Miller.
Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Deborah and Leroy Everette, Homer, GA; daughter, Jackie Miller, Fayetteville, NC; son and daughter-in-law, Bobby and Cindy Taylor, Bradenton, FL; 8 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.
Funeral services are scheduled for 11:00 a.m. on Monday, June 6, 2011, at Whitfield Funeral Home, South Chapel, Baldwin, Georgia with Rev. Michael McIntyre officiating. Interment will follow in Yonah Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. on Sunday, June 5, 2011, at Whitfield Funeral Home, South Chapel, Baldwin, Georgia.
