James "Tweedle" Harris

James "Tweedle" Harris, 74, of Gainesville passed away Saturday May 28, 2011 at his residence following an extended illness.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday June 1, 2011 at 11:00am from the chapel of Memorial Park Funeral Home with the Rev. Scott Waters and Rev. Chad Reed officiating. Interment will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1pm-3pm and 6pm-9pm Tuesday May 31, 2011 at the funeral home.

Mr. Harris was born January 30, 1937 in Gainesville to the late Ernest and Ellen Harris. He was a retired electrician with Cain Electric and a member of Victory Baptist Church. Mr. Harris was preceded in death by his wife Shirley Harris, and daughter Joann Bruce.

Mr. Harris is survived by his daughter and Son-in-law Elaine & Cooter Shoemake of Gainesville, daughter and son-in-law Becky & Jeff Bryant of Gainesville, daughter and son-in-law Linda & Tony Edge of Cleveland, son and daughter-in-law James "Pete" and Lori Harris of Dahlonega, son and daughter-in-law Tim & Robin Harris of Gainesville, 13 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren, brother and sister-in-law Russell and Kathy Harris of Gainesville, and a number of nieces and nephews.

Memorial Park Funeral Home, 2030 Memorial Park Road, Gainesville, GA 30504 is in charge of arrangements.
