Carrie Mae Addis Allen

Funeral services for Carrie Mae Addis Allen, age 100, of Demorest, will be held at 2:00 PM, Monday, May 23, 2011 from the Hillside Memorial Chapel. Rev. Tony Kemp and Toby Crowe will officiate with interment to follow in Habersham Cemetery.

Mrs. Allen passed away Saturday, May 21, 2011.

Born in Clarkesville, Georgia on June 29, 1910, Mrs. Allen was the daughter of the late Samuel John and Easter Lovell Addis. Mrs. Allen was a homemaker and she was a member of Habersham Baptist Church. In addition to her parents Mrs. Allen is preceded in death by husband John Oscar Allen, daughter Ella Ree Barfield, brothers Taylor, William, Jim, and Virgil Addis, and sister Dorothy Harrison.

Survivors include daughter Carrie Jane Adair of Lula, Sandra Jones of Demorest, daughters and sons in law Glenner and Curtis Benfield of Clarkesville and Anne and Willard Burke of Clarkesville, son and daughter in law O. J. and Karen Allen of Demorest, 15 grandchildren, and numerous great grandchildren and great great grandchildren

Visiting hours will be from 2-4 PM and from 6-8 PM on Sunday, May 22, 2011 at the funeral home.
