Jewel G. Burt

Jewel G. Burt, 88, of Dawsonville passed away Friday May 20, 2011 at New Horizons West following a period of declining health.

Born January 17, 1923 in Lumpkin County to the late James and Ethel Gooch, she lived most of her life in Dawson County. Mrs. Burt was a homemaker and member of Goshen Baptist Church. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Howard J. Burt; sisters, Ruby Densmore, Lavonia Densmore, Hazel Breeden, Elizabeth Gamblin; brothers, Garland Gooch and Guy Gooch.

Surviving are her stepchildren, Ann and Danny Kinnard, Dawsonville, Johnny and Kathy Burt, Dawsonville; grandchildren, Rick Kinnard, Jon and Terri Kinnard, Kasey and Jeff Sanders, Russell and Keena Burt, Cameron and Crystal Burt; 13 great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

Graveside services will be held Monday May 23, 2011 at 2 o'clock at Goshen Baptist Church Cemetery. Rev. Russell Burt will officiate.

The family will receive friends Sunday from 4 until 9 at the funeral home.
