Barbara Bird Gray

Barbara Bird Gray, 72, of Dawsonville passed away Friday May 20, 2011 at her residence following an extended illness.

Born July 8, 1938 in Decatur, Georgia to the late Harold and Roberta Bird, she had lived in Dawsonville for the past 13 years. A homemaker at her death, Mrs. Gray was formerly employed at Gulf Oil Corporation. Currently a member of the First Baptist Church of Dawsonville, she was formerly a member of Peachtree Corners Baptist Church, Dunwoody Baptist Church, and Briarlake Baptist Church.

Surviving are her husband of 47 years, James Herbert Gray, Dawsonville; daughters and sons in law, Melanie and Geoff Jones, Canton, Cheryl and Brandt Gully, Marietta; sister, Nancy Field, Alpharetta; grandchildren, Tucker Jones, Chloe Jones, Peyton, Gully, Anna Gully, and Samantha Gully.

Funeral services will be held Sunday May 22, 2011 at 2 o'clock at the First Baptist Church of Dawsonville. Dr. Bob Horner and Dr. Jim Gaines will officiate. Interment will follow in Dawsonville Memorial Gardens.

The family will receive friends Saturday from 5:30 until 8 at the funeral home.
