Samuel "Sammy" Dean Skaggs

Samuel "Sammy" Dean Skaggs, 51, of Buford, GA died accidentally on May 14, 2011, while enjoying his favorite pastime-fishing.

Sammy was born on September 22, 1959, in Stockton, CA, but lived most of his life in Georgia. He is survived by his parents, Rev. Truman Collier and Dorothy Dean Skaggs who served as pastor and wife of Central Baptist Church, in Gainesville for fourteen years. He is also survived by his Wife, Wendy Skaggs, Buford, Daughter, Samatha Paige Skaggs, Oakwood, Brother and Sister-in-law, Jody and Holly Skaggs, Gainesville, and nephew and family, Blake Skaggs, US Air Force, Germany.

Funeral Services will be held at 2:00p.m. Thursday May 19 in the Ward's Funeral Home Chapel. The Rev. Earl Pirkle and Rev. Jim Crumbley will officiate. Burial will be at Alta Vista Cemetery, Gainesville. The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 5:00pm to 8:00pm at the funeral home.

Special family members include Shelia Burns Family, Patricia Ann Rochford Family, Junior and Treva Clark Family, Joe Porter Family, Mary Lou Skaggs Family, Amanda Smith and Carla Franciscus Families and Matthew and Timothy Peden Families.

In Lieu of flowers donations may be given to Celebrate Recovery, 202 Hebron Church Road, Dacula, GA 30019.
