Jesse "Bud" Tyler

Jesse "Bud" Tyler, age 63, of Alto, Georgia, passed away on Saturday, May 7, 2011, at Northeast Georgia Medical Center.



Mr. Tyler was born on February 27, 1948, in Rabun County, Georgia. He was the son of the late Lamar and Francis Forrester Tyler. Mr. Tyler was also preceded in death by his sisters, Brenda Speed and Marion Wall. He was a graduate of Rabun County High School. Bud was a United States veteran having proudly served in the Vietnam Conflict. He was a retired correctional officer from the Lee Arrendale State Prison. Mr. Tyler was a member of Woodmen of the World and Alto Baptist Church, where he served as a deacon. Bud was an avid outdoorsman, loved to travel, and loved his family.



Survivors include his loving wife, Barbara Cook Tyler, of the home; son and daughter-in-law, Toby and Tonya Tyler, Hollywood, GA; brother, Ronnie Tyler, Sylva, NC; grandson, Hunter Tyler; mother-in-law, Stella Burton Cook, Alto, GA; special friends, Lant and Rosie Eller, Demorest, GA; and several nieces and nephews.



Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 10, 2011, at Whitfield Funeral Home, South Chapel, Baldwin, Georgia with Rev. Harrill Millsaps officiating. Interment will follow in the Wade Family Cemetery in Alto, Georgia. Full military honors will be provided by the Rabun County DAV Chapter #15, the Habersham County American Legion Post #84, and the Grant Reeves VFW Post #7720.



The family will receive friends from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. on Monday, May 9, 2011, at Whitfield Funeral Home, South Chapel, Baldwin, Georgia.
