Sylvia C. Martin

Sylvia C. Martin age 78 of Oakwood passed away May 4, 2011 at the Bell Home following a brief illness.

Mrs. Martin was born July 10, 1932 in Rhode Island to the late John Smith and Audrey Smith Lloyd. She was a homemaker and a member of Bethany Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband Van B. Martin, Jr.

Survivors include, son & daughter in law, Gary & Dede Martin of Oakwood, daughter & son in law, Linda & David Poole of Gainesville, grandson, Alex Martin of Oakwood, grandson & wife, Jacob & Rachael Martin of Winder, granddaughter & husband, Amanda & Dustin Cole of Gainesville.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Friday May 6, 2011 at the Memorial Park Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Lamar Purcell officiating. Burial will follow in Word of Life Pentecostal Deliverance Church Cemetery in Lumpkin County.

The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Thursday May 5, 2011 at the funeral home.
