Joseph Armand Roy

Joseph Armand Roy, Sr., age 82, of Cornelia, GA, passed away Sunday, May 01, 2011 at the residence of his son.
Mr. Roy was born on April 12, 1929, in Worcester, MA. He was retired from residential construction where he worked as a carpenter and plumber. He was a member of the Catholic Church and attended Alto Congregational Holiness Church. While living in Pompano Beach FL, he served as a volunteer fireman and assistant scout master. In addition to his parents he was also preceded in death by his wife, Arlene Arsenault Roy; daughter, Sharon Roy, six sisters and one brother.
Survivors include his daughters and son-in-law; Susan and Steve Mucci of Somerset, KY, Michelle and Eric Bogusz of Johnstown, NY; son, Paul Roy of Cornelia; sons and daughter-in-law, Kevin and Patricia Roy of Cornelia, Joseph Jr. and Karen Roy of Alto; nine grandchildren; nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services will be held at 3:00 pm on Tuesday, May 3, 2011 from the Alto Congregational Holiness Church with Rev. Tim Beasley officiating. Graveside services will be held at a later date in Notre Dame Catholic Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Monday from 6-9 pm. Flowers are accepted or memorials may be made to Leukemia Society of America, 2625 Cumberland Pkwy Suite 205, Atlanta, GA 30339.
