Betty Jean (Jones) Shedd

Betty Jean (Jones) Shedd, 78, of Cumming, GA, was called home by the Lord on Friday, April 29, 2011. Absent from the body, present with the Lord.

She is survived by her husband of 59 years, Lamar Shedd. Other survivors include her children, David Shedd, Linda Greenberg, and Tina Ingall; grandchildren, Kathryn and Jessica Ingall, Ashley and Brooke Shedd, and Hannah Greenberg. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Sarah Lazar and has two surviving brothers, Billy Jones (Gloria) and Frank Jones (Pat) as well as other extended family.

Betty was a member of Colonial Hills Baptist in East Point for over 40 years where she exhibited a servant's heart and the wonderful gift of hospitality as she opened her home to many.

The family will receive friends at McDonald and Son Funeral Home in Cumming, from 3:00 to 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, May 1, 2011.

Her service will be conducted on Monday, May 2, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at Cumming Baptist Church where she was a member.

The church is located at 115 Church Street, Cumming, GA, 30040. The service will be conducted by her pastor The Rev. Dr. Barry Coker. The burial will follow at Sawnee View Memorial Garden, Cumming, GA.
