Brenda Joyce Chandler Duncan

Ivie Funeral Home announces services for Brenda Joyce Chandler Duncan, 67, of Commerce, who died April 28, 2011.

She was the daughter of the late Winford and Mary Irene Shope Chandler and the widow of Edward Thomas (Tommy) Duncan, who passed away in February of this year.

She was the retired City Clerk of Jefferson.

Survivors include a daughter Jennifer Duncan (Kyle Parker)Embrick of Gainesville; grandchildren Jenny Swain (John) Stanley, Kristin (Jeremy)Acree, Kevin (Maggie Broome) Embrick, Lindsay Embrick; and great- grandchildren Bralynn Stanley, Cameron Stanley, Madi-Grace Acree.

Funeral services will be conducted Sunday, May 1, 2011, at 3:00 p.m.from the Canaan Baptist Church on Homestead Road in Commerce with Rev. David Strickland and Rev. Donald Wilson officiating; interment to follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Saturday evening from 6:00-9:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Canaan Baptist Church Building Fund.
