Mac Mitchell Davis

Mac Mitchell Davis, age 61, of Dahlonega, GA, died Thursday, April 28, 2011, at his residence following a sudden illness.

Mac was a native and lifelong resident of Lumpkin County, a U.S. Army veteran, and was of the Baptist faith.

He was the son of the late Bill Davis and Alice Gertrude Garrett Davis and was also preceded in death by an infant son, Timothy Mitchell Davis.

Mac is survived by his former wife and companion, Kathy Davis, Dahlonega, GA; daughter and son-in-law, Rebecca and Curtis Crumley, Dahlonega, GA; son, Gary Davis, Dahlonega, GA; sister and brother-in-law, Susan and David Scarboro, Dahlonega, GA; brothers, Bradley Davis, Dennis Davis, and Timothy Davis, all of Dahlonega, GA. Numerous other relatives also survive.

Funeral services are scheduled for 1 PM Saturday, April 30, 2011, at the Banister Funeral Home Chapel in Dahlonega.

Rev. Lyman Caldwell and Rev. Alan Passmore will officiate.

Interment will follow in Mount Hope Cemetery in Dahlonega with military honors provided by the Veterans Alliance Honor Guard.

The family will receive friends at Banister Funeral Home in Dahlonega on Friday, April 29, 2011 from 4 PM until 9 PM and again on Saturday until the time of the service.

Banister Funeral Home of Dahlonega is in charge of the arrangements.
