Billie Ruth Raymond Barron, age 76 of Gainesville, passed away on Monday, April 25, 2011.
She was preceded in death by her husband Chuck Barron; parents Howard James and Millie Belle Raymond; brother Durwood Howard Raymond; granddaughter Nicole Drew and grandson Jordan Thompson.
She is survived by her son Kelly Wadley of Portland, Oregon; son and daughter-in-law Kenneth Gilbert Drew, Jr. and Elizabeth Drew of Flowery Branch, Georgia and grandchildren Maria, Paul, Joshua, Angela, Travis and great-grandchildren Alyssa, Jacqueline, Giselle, Dawson, Dakota, Bryson, Isaiah, Tiana and Elijah; son and daughter-in-law Keith and Sherrilyn Drew of Des Plaines, Illinois and grandchildren Jacqueline, Sherrone, and Nathan and great-grandchildren Jessica, Tyler, Kyanna, Sahara and Kamryn; daughter and son-in-law Kim and Steve Villmann of Salem, Oregon and grandchildren Danelle, Tasha, Cherice, and Khalen, and great-grandchildren Alexis, Haley, and Boston; son and daughter-in-law Kevin and Lana Drew of Amity, Oregon and grandchildren Michael, Brenden, Austin, Andrea, Cody, Zachary and Jessica and great-grandchild Makayla; son Kirk Drew of Orlando, Florida; daughter and son-in-law Kristina and Mike Holmes of Flowery Branch, Georgia and grandson Tyler and great-grandchild Matthew, brothers and sisters-in-law, Donald & Barbara Raymond and Hugh & Janice Raymond, sister, Joyce Robinson and sister-in-law, Barbara Raymond.
Billie was born November 30, 1934 in Gilmer, Texas. She was a graduate of Fresno City College with a BA in business. She worked for many years managing a catering company before moving to Oregon. Her many talents and abilities lead her to working on the Alaskan pipeline as well as a major construction project in Wyoming. Billie also received her CNA and went on to provide health care for disabled children as well as the elderly. After moving to Georgia she became very active at the Harmony Hall Baptist Church where she enjoyed working with the AWANA children's program. Billie was a strong supporter of mission work both foreign and domestic and had always hoped to serve her Lord in mission work herself.
The family will be honoring and celebrating her life on Friday, April 29th at the Harmony Hall Baptist Church of Gainesville at 6:30 PM.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to either the Harmony Hill Baptist Church AWANA Children's Program, 4160 Mangum Hill Road, Gainesville, GA 30501, in memory of Miss Billie, or the American Cancer Society, 2565 Thompson Bridge Road
