Frances Georgia Sparrow

Frances Georgia Sparrow, 86, of Dawsonville passed away Saturday April 16, 2011 at Embracing Hospice following a short illness.

Born March 12, 1925 in Preston, Georgia to the late W. Leo and Ethel Alston, she had lived in Dawson County for the past 12 years having moved from Cumming. A loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother, she was a homemaker and a member of Cornerstone Christian Church. Mrs. Sparrow was also preceded in death by her husband, Robert P. Sparrow, with whom she would have celebrated 68 years of marriage on April 28; a sister, Mildred Nash; and brother, Bill Alston.

Surviving are her children, Sheila Sparrow, Dawsonville; Sherri and Mark Helms, Dawsonville, Stan and Judi Sparrow, Roswell; sister, Mary West, Austell; brother and sister in law, Clint and Frances Alston, Roswell; seven grandchildren and five great grandchildren.

Memorial services will be held Thursday April 21, 2011 at 11 a.m. at Cornerstone Christian Church. Pastor Joe Gaines will officiate.
