James W. Marcus

Funeral services for James W. Marcus, age 73, of Clarkesville will be held at 3:00 PM on Sunday, April 17, 2011 from the Hillside Memorial Chapel. Rev. Hal Cason and Rev. Paul Wright will officiate with interment to follow in the Mt. Zion Baptist Church Cemetery.

Mr. Marcus passed away April 15, 2011 at Habersham Home West.

Born in Habersham County on June 17, 1937, Mr. Marcus was the son of the late George and Drucilla Heaton Marcus. Mr. Marcus was a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church and he was retired from the Flor Saddle Tree Company and he also owned and operated James Custom Wood Shop. In addition to his parents Mr. Marcus is preceded in death by brothers Houston, JR., Tommy, George, and Charlie Marcus, and a baby sister.

Survivors include his wife Annie Burrell Marcus, daughter and son in law Faithie Ann and Carl Ray, brothers J. C. Marcus and Claude Marcus, and sister Mary Alice Ivester all of Clarkesville.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday, April 16, 2011 from 6-8 PM.
