Mary Kathryn Reed West

Mary Kathryn Reed West, age 89 of Flowery Branch, passed away Friday, April 15, 2011 at the Bell-Minor Nursing Home following an extended illness.

Funeral services are scheduled for Sunday, April 17, 2011 at 2:00 pm in the Chapel of Memorial Park Funeral Home with interment to follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. Reverend David Matthews will officiate. The family will receive friends Saturday, April 16, 2011 from 6:00-8:00 pm at the funeral home.

Mrs. West was born November 10, 1921 in Gainesville, Georgia to the late Hubert and Zona Summerour Reed. She was a member of Poplar Springs Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Newman K. West Sr.

Mrs. West is survived by her daughter, Linda Hutcherson of Virginia Beach, VA; son, Newman K "Sonny" West of Gainesville; grandson, Brian West of Gainesville; granddaughter, Kelly West of Dahlonega; granddaughter, Angela Hutcherson of Stockbridge; brother and sister-in-law, Gene and Frances Reed of Flowery Branch.
