Buren Lamar Lovell

Funeral services for Buren Lamar Lovell, age 64, of Clarkesville will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, April 16, 2011 from the Hillside Memorial Chapel. Rev. Connie Berry, Rev. Chris Anderson, and Mrs. Betty Gragg will officiate with interment to follow the service in Victory Baptist Church Cemetery.

Mr. Lovell passed away Wednesday, April 13, 2011 following a sudden illness.

Born August 17, 1946 in Clarkesville, Georgia, Mr. Lovell was the son of the late Buren C. and Ruby Welborn Lovell. Mr. Lovell was a corrections officer at Georgia Industrial Institute and he was a member of Victory Baptist Church. Mr. Lovell also owned and operated Lovell Grave Services for many years. In addition to his parents Mr. Lovell is preceded in death by brother Denver Lovell and sister Brenda Jones.

Survivors include his wife Jean Poole Lovell of Clarkesville, daughters and sons in law Lakeeta and Joel Tyre of Clarkesville and Candace and Rob Blackburn of Alto, brother and sister in law Reed and Mitzie Lovell of Clermont, sisters and brothers in law JoAnn and Rev. Connie Berry of Demorest and Jewell and Terry Shirley of Clarkesville, grandsons Mackenzie Appleton, Seth Blackburn, and Gabe Blackburn, as well as several brothers in law, sisters in law, nephews, and nieces.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Deep Creek Fire Department, 4263 Hollywood Highway, Clarkesville, GA 30523.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday, April 15, 2011 from 2-4 PM and from 6-8 PM.
