Margaret Diane "Marty" Murphy

Evans Funeral Home announces the death of Mrs. Margaret Diane Hicks "Marty" Murphy, age 55, of Pendergrass, who passed away on April 12, 2011. Mrs. Murphy was born in Madison, GA, a daughter to the late Howard and Lilly Mae Angel Hicks. Mrs. Murphy was a homemaker and a member of the Mt. Creek Baptist Church. Her sister, Darlene Carter, and her brothers, Frankie Joe Hicks, Fred C. Hicks, Eugene Hicks and John Alton Hicks, preceded her in death.

Survivors include her husband, Johnny Murphy, Pendergrass, daughter, Ellie Murphy, Pendergrass, sisters, Charlotte Reynolds and Gail Martin, both of Bethlehem, Patricia Gooch, Braselton, Edna Hartness, Cartersville, Rachel Brooks, Cumming, numerous nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.

Funeral Services will be held on Friday, April 15, 2011 at 2:00pm in the Chapel of Evans Funeral Home with Rev. Jeff Graham, Rev. Johnny Knight and Rev. Leroy Gooch officiating. The burial will follow in the Mt. Creek Baptist Church Cemetery with the visitation being held from 12noon to 2pm Friday at the funeral home, prior to the service.
