Mary Ophelia "Trixie" Ivester

Mary Ophelia "Trixie" Ivester, age 82, of Toccoa, Georgia, passed away on Monday, April 11, 2011, at the residence following an extended illness.

Mrs. Ivester was born on April 17, 1928, in Hall County, Georgia. She was the daughter of the late Egbert and Bessie Langford. Mrs. Ivester was also preceded in death by her husband, John Arthur Ivester, 4 brothers, and 4 sisters. She was a retired lab technician having served at Buford General Hospital and Stephens County Hospital. Mrs. Ivester was a member of the Gideons International Auxiliary, the Red Hat Society, the Campers on Mission, and the Good Sams Club. She was a member of Antioch Baptist Church and the Pathfinders-Joy Sunday School Class.

Survivors include her daughters and sons-in-law, Brenda and Larry Farina, Hendersonvile, TN and Donna and Trey Feazell, Marietta, GA; son and daughter-in-law, Dennis Ivester of Toccoa, GA and Liz Ivester of Tomball, TX; sister, Elizabeth Kent, Grovetown, GA; nine grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews.

Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m. on Friday, April 15, 2011, at Antioch Baptist Church with Rev. Brian Stephens and Rev. David Harbin officiating. Interment will follow in Yonah Memorial Gardens.

The family will receive friends from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. on Thursday, April 14, 2011, at Whitfield Funeral Home, North Chapel, Demorest, Georgia.
