Ruth Mills Heard

Ruth Mills Heard, age 88, of Cumming, passed away Saturday, April 9, 2011. Ruth was a member of Coal Mountain Baptist Church. She was active many church, school and community activities. She enjoyed gardening, traveling and being with her family. She was preceded in death by her husband Mark Heard, Jr.

Survivors include her children, Paula Heard Gault Hughes (Robert) of Cumming, Patricia Heard of Cumming, Nancy Elise Heard of Cumming, Jack Heard (Nancy W.) of Cumming, Sam Heard (Mary) of Cumming; grandchildren, Kelley K. Story (Sam), Kristin Martin-Mohr (Doug), Jessica Heard, Jonathan Heard, Caroline Heard, Elizabeth Heard, Mark Heard; step grandchildren, Michelle Leak (Chris), Melanie Martin (Matt), Chris Hughes, Chandler Barnett, 4 great grandchildren, 8 step great grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Mary Heard McClure, Jeanne Martin Mills; several nieces, nephews and other relatives also survive.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, April 12, 2011, at Coal Mountain Baptist Church with Rev. Danny Bennett, Dr. Bob Jolly and Rev. John Lummus officiating. Interment will follow at Coal Mountain Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Ingram Funeral Home on Monday from 4:00 pm until 9:00 pm and Tuesday from 9:00 am until hour of service.
