Ted E. Thrasher

Mr. Ted E. Thrasher, age 80, of Flowery Branch, Georgia, passed away Friday, April 8, 2011, at Northeast Georgia Medical Center.

Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 pm Sunday, April 10, 2011 at Poplar Springs Baptist Church with interment to follow in the church cemetery. The Reverend David Matthews, Reverend Ricky Thrasher and Reverend Ben Wallis will officiate. The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 pm and 6 to 8 pm Saturday, April 9, 2011 at the funeral home.

Mr. Thrasher was born in Marshall County, Alabama and was the son of the late Luther Thomas Thrasher and Eulas Mae (Jackson) Thrasher. He served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. He was a member of Poplar Springs Baptist Church and the Whosoever Will Sunday School Class. He was preceded in death by his parents and four brothers, Dean, Billy, Byron and Hobert Thrasher; four sisters, Evelyn McCray, Peggy Aldridge, Wynola Hudson and Lilyen Goble.

Ted is survived by his loving wife of 58 years Fayrene (Mayo) Thrasher, Flowery Branch; sons and daughters-in-law, Rev. Ricky and Janet Smith Thrasher, Flowery Branch; Steve and Carol Thrasher, Lawrenceville; Tim and Karen Pattillo Thrasher, Gainesville; David and Karen A. Thrasher, Flowery Branch; son, Greg Thrasher, Flowery Branch; and ten grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren; sister, Rossi Wood, Altoona, AL; sister-in-laws, Frances Reed, Braselton; Gwen England, Homer; and Audrey Goble, Blountsville, AL; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, W.C and Charlotte Mayo, Brookton; and several nieces, nephews and friends.

Flowers will be accepted but those who wish may make donations to Poplar Springs Baptist Church 3101 Poplar Springs Church Road Gainesville, GA 30507.
