Charles W. Finch

Evans Funeral Home announces the death of Mr. Charles Wendell "Chuck" Finch, age 71, of Athens, GA, Redstone Community, who passed away on Thursday, April 7, 2011.

Mr. Finch was born in Jackson County, a son to the late Hoke Smith Finch and the late Nancy Corine Shields Finch. Mr. Finch was a member of Red Stone Methodist Church.

Mr. Finch worked for ABB Inc. in Athens, where he retired after 32 years and was a veteran of the US Army.

Survivors include his wife Rebecca A. Finch of the Redstone Community, daughters, Wendi Finch of Athens, Jennifer Finch (Mitch) Collins of Redstone Community, step-sons John Barry Sims of Savannah, Robert Lee Sims of Statham, grandchildren Janie Johnson, Jacob Collins, Cassy Collins, step-grandchildren Rebecca Sims, Tyler Sims.

Funeral services will be Sunday April 10, 2011 at 3:00 pm in the Chapel of Evans Funeral Home with Rev. Bill Carpenter and Rev. Lee Shipp officiating.

The visitation will be Saturday April 9, 2011 from 6-8pm at the funeral home. A private family interment will be at Galilee Christian Church Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, please make memorials to the Redstone United Methodist Church, 6722 Athens Highway, Jefferson, GA 30549.
