Virginia Pierce

Virginia Pierce, 85 of Cleveland, GA formerly of Hall County, died April 5, 2011 at her home following an extended illness. She was born in Gainesville, on April 25, 1925, the daughter of the late Roy and Azzie Mae Wallis Lathem.

Virginia graduated from Oakwood High School, retired from Chicopee Manufacturing with 36 years of service and then worked and retired from Sam's Club following her 80th birthday with 10 years of service.

In addition to her parents Mrs. Pierce is preceded in death by her daughter; Jackie Cochran and her sister and brother-in-law; Louise and Vernon Kidd.

Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law; Eddie and Mary Lou Pierce of Gainesville, daughter and son-in-law; Becky and Charles Whitlock of Cleveland, son and daughter-in-law; Ronnie and Melissa Pierce of Cleveland, grandchildren; Misti Sheriff, Jody Pierce, Chere Thomas, Natalie Bailey, Ashley Pierce, Tyler Whitlock, Drew Whitlock, Joey Pierce, Matthew Pierce, Scott Allen and Nickie Davis, great grandchildren; Breylan and Brooke Pierce, Cole Sheriff, Paige, Faith and Hope Thomas, Jackson, Thomas and Wil Bailey, Cade, Andrew and Carter Pierce, Anaston Whitlock, Tanner Davis and Gage Allen, sisters and brothers-in-law; Morene and Marion Underwood of Cocoa, FL, Willie Mae and Herman Grizzle of Cocoa, FL, brother and sister-in-law; Doug and Linda Lathem of Cocoa, FL, Nieces, Nephew, other relatives and loving friends.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm Thursday, April 7, 2011 in the Chapel of Little and Davenport Funeral Home. Rev. James Wood and Rev. Jerry Whitlock will officiate. The family will receive friends from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm and 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm Wednesday, April 6, 2011 at Little and Davenport Funeral Home.
