Kathy Lunsford Grizzle

Mrs. Kathy Lunsford Grizzle, age 58, of Dahlonega, GA, died Tuesday, March 29, 2011, at the Northeast Georgia Medical Center in Gainesville, GA.

Kathy was born May 1, 1952 in Blue Ridge, GA, grew up in Suches, GA, and had lived in Dahlonega for many years. She retired from North Georgia College and State University after 33 years of service. After nursing school, Kathy went to work at NGCSU as the nurse in the Infirmary. The last 15 years, she served as Director of Health Services. During her 33 years at NGCSU, Kathy touched literally thousands of students' lives. She was a member of Corinth Baptist Church in Union County.

Kathy is survived by her husband of 38 years, Vaughn Grizzle, Dahlonega, GA; parents, Conley and Dot Lunsford, Suches, GA; sister, Gail Fisher, Gainesville, GA; brother and sister-in-law, Terry and Vickie Lunsford, Dahlonega, GA; nieces and nephews, Kristin Rainwater, Halley Grizzle, Eric Craft, Josh and Jake Cantrell, and Katie Cantrell; sister-in-law, Kay Grizzle, Dahlonega, GA; brother-in-law, Randy Grizzle, Blairsville, GA.

Funeral services for Kathy are scheduled for 2 PM Friday, April 1, 2011, at the Banister Funeral Home Chapel in Dahlonega.

Rev. Lyman Caldwell, Rev. Ronnie McCormick, and Rev. Bryan Mason will officiate.

Interment will follow in the Corinth Baptist Church Cemetery in Union County.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday, March 31, 2011, from 6 PM until 9 PM.
