Nora Irene Marshal

Nora Irene Marshall, age 97, of Gainesville passed away on Sunday, March 27, 2011 at her residence. Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Tuesday at Little and Davenport Chapel with Rev. Steve Baker and Rev. Lamar Purcell officiating burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.

She was a member of Pinecrest Baptist Church and also an avid gardner, while in South Carolina during WW II, Mrs. Marshall was the weaver of the uniform material used to make the officer's uniforms.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Ernest Marshall, survivors include daughters, Peggy Baker of Gainesville; Norma Burgess of Louisville, KY; son, Ronald Burgess of Atlanta; son and daughter in law, Dan and Bessie Burgess of McDonough, GA; sister, Elsie Whitehead of Athens; brother, Clifford Aaron of Athens; 5 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren and 6 great great grandchildren.

The family will receive friends Monday from 2:00 to 4:00 and 6:00 to 8:00 pm at the funeral home.
