Judge Steven Charles Adams

Honorable Judge Steven C. Adams, age 61, of Lula, Georgia, passed away on Friday, March 4, 2011.



Mr. Adams was born on March 13, 1949, in Habersham County, Georgia to the late Honorable Judge F. Jack Adams and Joye Hipps Adams. He attended Habersham County Schools and graduated from Phillips Exeter Academy. Mr. Adams then, graduated from Vanderbilt with a Bachelor's Degree in Political Science. Soon after, he graduated from the Emory University School of Law, with a Doctorate Degree in law and came back home to join his father in their law practice, "Adams, Ellard, and Frankum". Mr. Adams served as the Municipal Court Judge for the City of Cornelia, served on the Board of Directors of Community Bank and Trust, and was the Past President of the Habersham County Rotary Club of Cornelia. He was of the Baptist faith, and an avid Blues Enthusiast, and a charter member of the National Blues Society. Mr. Adams was partial founder and developer of the Fourlanders Ham Radio Club. He was also the chair member of the Bushman Harmonica Company and loved life to the fullest; spending as much time with his family as he could.



Survivors include his loving wife of 14 years, Shirley Adams, Lula, GA; daughter, Penny Mayo Stevens and her fiancé, John Bridges, Demorest, GA; daughter and son-in-law, Lisa Gail and Harold Mullins, Lula, GA; son and daughter-in-law, Keith and Kim Mayo, Rutledge, GA; grandchildren, Travis Stevens and his fiancé, Lindsey Warr, Lula, GA, Jake and Jessica Stevens, Lula, GA, Ben Stevens, Lula, GA, Zack Mayo, Rutledge, GA, Chase Mullins, Lula, GA, Jessie Mayo, Rutledge, GA, Courtney Mayo, Rutledge, GA, and Abi Mullins, Lula, GA; great-grandchildren, Austin Towe, Oakwood, GA and Levi and Sara Stevens, Lula, GA; one aunt, Nancy Hipps Stovall, Cornelia, GA; and a cousin and her husband, Marcia and Bill Loyd, Cornelia, GA.



Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m. on Monday, March 7, 2011, at Whitfield Funeral Home, South Chapel, Baldwin, Georgia, with Rev. David Turner, Chief Rick Darby, and Honorable Steve Campbell officiating. Interment will follow in Level Grove Cemetery.



The family will receive friends from 3-6 p.m. on Sunday, March 6, 2011, at Whitfield Funeral Home, South Chapel, Baldwin, Georgia.
