William Robert "Bill" Venable

Mr. William Robert "Bill" Venable, age 86, of Lula, formerly of Commerce, GA died Wednesday, March 02, 2011 at his residence. Mr. Venable was born in Jackson County, GA to the late Carl and Ella Mae Seagraves Venable. He was a retired Air Force veteran of World War II, Korean War, and Vietnam War. Mr. Venable was also a retired police officer. In addition to his parents, Mr. Venable was preceded in death by his wife, Annie Ruth "Sissie" Standridge Venable.
Mr. Venable is survived by his daughters, Diann Matthews of Hartwell and Connie Gardiner of Maysville; son, Allen Venable of Lula; sister, Annette Sanders of Athens; brother, Tommy Gene Venable of Nicholson; six grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at 11 AM, Friday, March 4 at the chapel of Little-Ward Funeral Home with Rev. James Duncan officiating. Interment will follow in Jackson Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Thursday night from 6 to 9 PM.
