Sue Russell White

Obituary Date: Wednesday, February 23, 2011
Sue Russell White, 80, passed away February 23, 2011 after a brief illness. Sue was born April 26, 1930 in Gainesville GA.

Sue and her husband, Paul owned and operated Paul White Cleaners for many years until she "retired" to work full time at Lanier Raceway. Sue was "working at the track" until February 11, 2011 when a sudden illness forced her final retirement.

Before operating the cleaners, Sue worked at Chicopee Mills and "moon-lighted" as a school bus driver for Hall County. Sue was a tireless worker who enjoyed having a job to do. She also balanced her life with a healthy amount of relaxation and competition. She was well known for her awesome Chocolate pies and Banana Pudding which she would share with her family and celebrity friends such as Rhubarb Jones and Jerry Glanville, She was an avid Bowler who was inducted into the Georgia Women's Bowling Hall of Fame and was the Georgia Bowler of the Year. She was well known throughout the bowling circuit and the racing circuit. Sue and her husband Paul, and her sons Billy and Lynn were a "racing family" and could be found at the race track anytime there was a race. Whether working, bowling, or at the track, Sue gave it her all. Never at a loss for words Sue will be missed by her family and friends.

Sue would have wanted her family and friends to "go bowl or see a race" and enjoy life.

She was predeceased by her husband, Paul White, sons; Charles and Billy White, her parents; Steve and Eva Russell, sisters; Lula Bell Winkler, Blondine Dean, Alice Crumley, and brothers; Clyde Russell and Frank Russell.

She is survived by her son Lynn White and his wife Susan of Sugar Hill, granddaughter; Christy White Smith and husband Billy, granddaughter Whitney White and her fiancé Eddie Wiggley, great grandchildren; Lane White and Dixie Wiggley and Downey and William Smith, sister; Polly Helton, a host of nieces and nephews and her "racetrack" family and "bowling" family.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 26, 2011 in the chapel of Little & Davenport Funeral Home. The Rev. Mark Russell will officiate. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday, February 25, 2011 from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. and from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.
