Maggie Hartley Carpenter

Mrs. Maggie Hartley Carpenter age 85 of Oakwood, passed away Wednesday,
February 16, 2011. Maggie was born in Hoschton but lived most of her life
in Oakwood. She is preceded in death by her mother and father, Lottie Bell
and Clarence Hartley. She is preceded in death by her husband, Tom
Carpenter after 44 years of marriage. Tom passed away February 7, 1986. She
is also preceded in death by her brother Ed Hartley and sister Kate Reed.
She loved spending time with her family and was a member of Oakwood Baptist
Church. She is survived by her son Steve Carpenter of Oakwood; sister Jenny
Smith of Chestnut Mountain; grandchildren Holly Carpenter Desai of Hoschton
and James Carpenter of Gainesville. Family will receive friends 1:00 p.m.
to 3:00 p.m. Saturday, February 19, 2011 at Zion Hill Baptist Church. A
memorial service will be held at 3:00 p.m. with the Rev. Scott Wilson
officiating. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Zion Hill
Baptist Church, 4100 Falcon Parkway, Flowery Branch, GA 30542. Arrangements
