Mae Bell Smith

Alexander Funeral Home of Cleveland announces the death of Mae Bell Smith, age 90 of Cleveland. Mrs. Smith passed away Monday, February 14, 2011 at Friendship Healthcare and Rehab in Cleveland following an extended illness.

Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 pm, Thursday, February 17, 2011 from the funeral home chapel with Rev. Paul Flynn and Rev. Truett Simmemon officiating. Interment will follow in Level Grove Cemetery.

Mrs. Smith was born in Habersham County to the late Ross McDuffie and Tennie Martin McDuffie. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Smith is preceded in death by her husband, Laymon Smith, daughter in law, Maxine McDuffie Smith, brothers, Sam McDuffie, Obie McDuffie and Clarence McDuffie and sisters, Madelee Gerrells, Donnie Simmons and Myrtle McCallister.

Survivors include her son, Stanley McDuffie, Cleveland; 4 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday from 12:00 pm until the funeral hour.
