Helene Marie Wilson

Obituary Date: Monday, February 7, 2011
Helene Marie Wilson, 94 of Sarasota, FL passed away on Monday February 7, 2011. She was born Helen Marie Kennedy at her grandmother Daems ranch at Varney Montana, July 24, 1916 to Johnny and Alice Daems Kennedy.



She married Monty Neely and as a young wife and mother worked on the family dude ranch, Neely's Camp, in Cliff Lake, Montana. During World War II, the family moved to San Francisco where she worked in the Kyser Shipyard as part of the war effort.



In the early 1950's Helen married for a second time to J.C. Wilson of Dawson County, GA. She made her home in Forsyth and Hall Counties until her retirement to Sarasota, FL in 1999. She attended Concord Baptist Church in Forsyth County and also Hopewell Methodist and Yellow Creek Baptist Church in Hall County.



Graveside services will be held at 3:00 p.m. Wednesday February 16, 2011 at Yellow Creek Baptist Church. The Rev. Ricky Stone will officiate. Interment will follow in the Yellow Creek Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Tuesday February 15, 2011 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.



In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, J.C. Wilson. She is survived by he daughter and son-in-law, Sherry and Matthew Rundell of Sarasota, FL; son and daughter-in-law, Jim and Jean Neely of Alder, Mt; nephew, Ronnie Seabolt of Gainesville; 5 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren, 4 great-great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.



She was a talented ceramist, great dancer and a cherished friend and is lovingly remembered by her family and friends.
