Ronnie Manton
Obituary Date: Monday, February 14, 2011
Ronnie Manton, age 65, of Cumming, passed away Sunday, February 13, 2011. He was an active member of Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church. Ronnie was an All State football player in Mississippi for Brookhaven High School and he received a full ride and Athletic Scholarship from LSU (1963-1968). He played in the Babe Ruth World Series. Ronnie was an avid golfer, outdoors hunter and had worked all his life in the oil industry retiring as Regional Vice President with BP Oil. He was preceded in death by his parents, Cecil and Dot Manton; brother-in-law, Marvin Lowery; grandparents, Henry and Vernon Manton, Alton and Velma Brinson.
Survivors include his wife, Terra Wallace Manton of Cumming; children, Blake and Jennifer Manton of Norcross, Brinson and Rachael Manton of Buford; sister, Beverly Lowery; sister and brother-in-law Dinah and Kenneth Wallace; grandchildren, Mary Grace, Davis and Shelton Manton; and a number of nieces, nephews and other relatives also survive.
Memorial services will be held Wednesday, February 16, 2011 at 11:30 am at Ingram Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. David Tinsley officiating. The family will receive friends at Ingram Home on Tuesday, February 15th from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm and Wednesday from 10:30 am until hour of service.
