Jacquelyn "Jackie" Johnson

Donnie and Jacquelyn "Jackie" Johnson of Dawsonville passed away February 5, 2011 at their residence.

Donnie was born March 12, 1948 in Atlanta to the late Harris and Dixie Johnson. He retired from the City of Atlanta Water Department after 30 years of service after which he was employed by the Gwinnett County Water Department for 15 years.

Jackie was born May 3, 1948 in Elmira, NY and grew up in Atlanta. She retired from Lucent Technologies after over 20 years of service and was preceded in death by her mother, Blanche Smith.

Donnie and Jackie were childhood sweethearts and married for 43 years. They moved to Dawson County in 1979 from Mableton. They were active in the community where they were loved and admired by many.

Surviving are Jackie's father, Nate Smith, Stockbridge; sister, Susan Smith, Stockbridge; brother and sister in law; Phil and Anne Smith, McDonough; Donnie's sister and brother in law, Candy and Daniel Pyron, Ellenwood; brothers and sisters in law, Harris Tucker, III, and Connie Johnson, Carrollton, Scott and Terri Johnson, Slocomb, AL, Michael David and Amanda K. Johnson, Stuart, FL, Victor Fairfax Johnson, Slocomb, AL; and a number of other relatives.

Memorial services will be held Saturday February 12, 2011 at 2 o'clock at Bearden Funeral Home Chapel.

The family will receive friends Saturday beginning at 1 p.m.
