Florence Grist Dillard

Florence Grist Dillard, 97, of Dillard, GA, went home to be with the Lord on February 7, 2011 at her residence. She was born January 27, 1914 in Dillard, Georgia and was the daughter of Charles Rush and Zella Bradley Grist.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Claude Edward Dillard; siblings, Hershel Grist, Berdie Bleckley, Elizabeth Page, Lois Tye, and Lucille Enloe.

Survivors include one son, Edward Rush Dillard of Dillard, GA.; grandchildren, Claude Dillard of Dillard, GA, Janet Bryson of Dillard, GA, Steve Dillard of Dillard, GA, Jack Conley and Marty Conley of Atlanta, GA. and siblings Donna Wilborn, and Muriel Boyd, both of Dillard, GA. 11 great-grandchildren also survive

She retired from the Dillard, Georgia Post Office as a career clerk of 30 years. She was a lifelong member of Head of Tennessee Baptist Church where she was active as a Sunday School Teacher, in the Women's Missionary Society, and served in several other positions in the church.

The family will receive friends at Beck Funeral Home Wednesday evening, February 9, 2011 from 6 PM to 8 PM. Funeral Services will be held Thursday, February 10, 2011 at 11 AM at Head of Tennessee Baptist Church with Rev. Doug Porter officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
