Grady Lamar Woodall

Obituary Date: Saturday, February 5, 2011
Grady Lamar Woodall passed away on February 5, 2011, at the age of 85. Lamar resided in White, GA before moving to Dahlonega, GA six years ago.

He was the son of Luther Roy and Anna Dickson Woodall. He was born on July 15, 1925 in Bartow County. Lamar was married to Emily Reeves Woodall on April 1, 1949 by the Reverend J. V. Speer. Lamar would have celebrated his 62nd wedding anniversary on April 1st. To this union two children were born, Cathy Sue Cox of Dawsonville, GA and Jeffrey Woodall of Dahlonega, GA, three grandsons, Ryan, Kody, and Ethan Woodall, one great granddaughter, Jessica Woodall, one brother, Eugene Woodall of White, GA. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Lamar served in the U. S. Navy during World War II, and he was a member of Bethlehem Baptist Church, and was an ordained deacon.

Lamar accepted Christ at the age of 15, and as a young man, he always greeted you with a great big smile. Lamar was a devoted husband, loving father, grandfather, and hard worker all his life.

Lamar played the game of life with the Golden Rule as its center of men and women came to know him as a friend who was a friend indeed.

He set his house in order in 1995 when he disposed of his property, so when his tombstone is erected, it will complete the record of his life. The body returns to the dust from whence it came and the soul returns to the God who gave it. Rest in peace, Lamar, your last battle is fought. The God of all earth sounds taps and lights out for the morning's dawn of Eternity is at hand.

Funeral Services will be held Monday, February 7, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. at Dahlonega Funeral Home Chapel, Dahlonega, GA. with the Pastor Michael Rodgers officiating. Pallbears will be members of Bethlehem Baptist Church. Interment will follow at Bethlehem Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Sunday, February 6, 2011 from 6:00-9:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

Condolences may be expressed on-line at www.dahlonegafuneralhome.com.
