Mr. James G. Rider, 79 of Dahlonega died Saturday February 5, 2011 at the Northeast Georgia Medical Center.
Born in Lumpkin County, Mr. Rider was the son of the late Bonnie Seabolt Rider and Ernest Rider. He was retired from Parks Lumber Company where he worked for 39 years. Mr. Rider loved gardening and always being outside and keeping his truck clean, he was a loving husband, father and grandfather.
Mr. Rider is preceded in death by his wife, Willene Eula Elliott Rider, sister, Viola Sosebee and brothers, Arlie and Garland Rider.
Survivors include his daughters and sons-in-law; Carolyn and San-Man Wood, Claudine and Henry Armstrong, Linda and Alton Chastain, all of Dahlonega; Judy and James Armour, Lula; son and daughter-in-law; Ben and Lynn Mincey, Lumpkin County; sisters, Willie Mae Wilson and Mildred Woody, both of Murrayville; grandchildren; Candy and Larry Bennett, Amanda and Luke Finley, Marisa and Ryan Pierce, Jan and Sherman Graham, Missy and Brad Thompson, Jennifer Marshall, Kelly and Jarred Seabolt, Shane and Debbie Chastain, Tonya and Tommy Cantrell and Michael Beck. Numerous great grandchildren and other relatives and friends also survive.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday February 8, 2011 in the Little & Davenport Funeral Home Chapel. The Rev. Randy Perry will officiate. Interment will follow in the St. Paul United Methodist Church Cemetery in Lumpkin County. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Monday February 7, 2011 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.
