Ruby Era Day, age 90, of Cumming, passed away Friday, February 4, 2011.She was a member of Haw Creek Baptist Church, but attended her childhood church, Bethelview United Methodist Church in her later years. Her family felt that she was the best wife, mother and grandmother there ever was. She is preceded in death by her parents, Grady and Corrie McGinnis; and brothers, Herbert, Henry, George and John McGinnis.



She is survived by her loving husband of 71 years, Emmett Day of Cumming; children, Gail and Melvin Hunnicutt of Lawrenceville, Janice and Perry Dillard of Cleveland, Johnie and Teresa Day of Johns Creek; sisters and brother-in-law, Alma Samples, Christine and Everett Taylor of Cumming; brother and sisters-in-law Dan and Juanita McGinnis of Cumming, Helen McGinnis of Cumming, Imogene McGinnis of Madison, Bernice Kennemore of Alpharetta, Dorothy Nichols of Gainesville; grandchildren, Michelle Evans, Amy Hunnicutt, Angela and Adam Heffernan, Adam and Carrie Day, Matthew and Katie Day; great grandchildren, Joshua, Jackson, Lucas Heffernan, Brittany, Courtney, Chance Sisk, Andrew Day; and several other relatives survive.



Funeral services will be held Monday, February7, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Ingram Funeral Home with Rev. Deborah Griffith officiating. Interment will follow in Sawnee View Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at Ingram Funeral Home on Sunday from 2:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and Monday from noon until the time of services.
