Cathryn "Cathy" Cooksey

Cathryn "Cathy" Cooksey, 76, of Dawsonville, Georgia passed away Monday January 24, 2011 at her residence following a short illness.

Born April 24, 1934 in Memphis, Texas to the late James and Pauline Knox, she lived in Dawson County for the past 5 years having moved from Camarillo, California. A homemaker at her death, she was a loving wife, mother and grandmother who possessed a great love for music. Cathy was also preceded in death by her husbands, Don J. Morren and Richard L. Cooksey; and stepfather, Earl "Slim" Alexander.

Surviving are her sons and daughters in law, Terry and Lynda Cooksey, Dawsonville, Danny and Teresa Cooksey, Dawsonville; sister, Pat Sinclair, Carrollton, TX; granddaughter, Trista Tenney; great grandsons, Taye Wilburn, Kyan Wilburn; and a number of nieces, nephews and other relatives.

Memorial services will be held Saturday April 16, 2011 at 2 o'clock at Bearden Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Jeffrey Brookshire will officiate.

The family will receive friends beginning at 1 p.m. until the service hour.
