Betty Martin Smith

Funeral services for Betty Martin Smith, age 75, of Clarkesville will be held on Saturday, January 22, 2011, at 4:00 PM from the Bethlehem Baptist Church. Dr. Bill Cashion and Rev. Tommy Stowe will officiate with interment to follow the service in the Church cemetery.

Mrs. Smith passed away Thursday, January 20, 2011 at Habersham Medical Center.
Born September 6, 1935 in Habersham County, Mrs. Smith was the daughter of the late Walter and Pauline Jarrell Martin. Mrs. Smith was a member of Bethlehem Baptist Church and she was retired from Scovill Fasteners, Inc. where she was an inspector. In addition to her parents Mrs. Smith is preceded in death by her husband Frank Loyd Smith and brother Larry Martin.

Survivors include daughters Martha S. Smith of Clarkesville, Carol Allen of Gainesville, and Becky Umbehant of Demorest, sons Loyd D. Smith and Michael A. Smith both of Clarkesville, brothers Ross Martin of Cornelia and Lee Martin of Clarkesville, sister Kathy Clark of Cornelia, as well as ten grandchildren and five great grandchildren.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday, January 21, 2011 from 2-4 PM and from 6-8 PM.
